Maras chiles are typically only found crushed and unlike most of chili flakes you may be most familiar with, are not completely dry. Maras pepper is known for its rich, complex and slightly sweet flavor.

Maras Silk Chili Peppers, registered pepper seeds belonging to Kahramanmaras region are grown and dried in Maras, which has the most suitable climate conditions for these seeds. Chili peppers, which are made by removing the seeds, adding olive oil, and an appropriate amount of salt is called silk chili peppers.

Flavor Profile

The flavor profile of crushed Maras pepper is similar to Aleppo pepper. The aroma is of dried fruit, while the taste is slightly acidic with hints of deep earthy flavors.
